Step 1: Understand the 12 Houses
The birth chart is divided into 12 houses (bhavas), each governing a different area of life:

Step 2: Know the 12 Signs (Rashis)
Each house contains a zodiac sign. The sign in your 1st house is your Lagna (Ascendant) — the most important point in your chart. The 12 signs and their ruling planets are:

Step 3: Read the Planets (Grahas)
